Mixed Martial ArtsMMA classes feature a mix of striking, grappling, cage wrestling, clinch fighting and footwork, relevant for both amateur and professional MMA fighters

What we will cover

Footwork

The essence of MMA and crucial to maintaining stability, balance and fluidity. Footwork is taught in training through forward, backward and side to side movement. Emphasis is placed on attacking and defending from orthodox and southpaw stances.

Clinch Fighting

Fighting in very close quarters from the clinch is a fundamental part of MMA, and proper techniques for overhooks, underhooks, head and shoulder control, close contact striking, takedowns and sweeps all feature in clinch fighting sessions.

Cage Wrestling

Fighting against the cage is an exhausting and ever present reality of MMA. Proper techniques for maintaining stability while defending against the cage as well as attacking and exerting pressure on the cage are taught in cage wrestling sessions.

Striking

Abs, crosses, elbows, knees and kicks all feature in striking sessions, and are often put together to form various combos to confuse and punish your opponent. Drills are performed on heavy bags as well as focus mitts to encourage power, technique and balance.

Takedowns

Getting an opponent to the ground for either offensive or defensive reasons is a skill we refine with continuous practice. Whether from the inside or outside, takedown and takedown defense are necessary for any well-rounded MMA practitioner.

Grappling

Once you and your opponent have been brought to the ground a different battle begins. Grappling features a mix of wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and ground striking to ensure that once the fight is taken to the floor you maintain control.
